Airborne Assault

The new Museum of The Parachute Regiment and Airborne Forces is located at Duxford in partnership with the Imperial War Museum.

The first phase sees the Airborne Forces Museum collections relocated from Aldershot to a dedicated facility in the state-of-the-art AirSpace building at IWM. Here the historic collections are newly presented through multi-media displays.

ParaData, the living archive of the Airborne Forces, will be the definitive digital database, accessible through touch screens at the museum, and online. The physical Archive of the Airborne Forces Museum has also been re-housed separately at the site.

PUBLIC OPENING will be TUESDAY DECEMBER 9TH, 2008.

Opening times will be those of IWM Duxford:
Open daily except 24, 25 and 26 December.
Winter 2008/2009 (26 October 2008 to 13 March 2009 inclusive)
10.00 am - 4.00 pm (Last admission 3pm.)
Summer 2009 (14 March to 24 October inclusive)
10.00 am - 6.00 pm (Last admission 5pm.)
It is recommended that visitors enter IWM by 3.00pm (in Winter) and by 5.00pm (in Summer).Full directions and details can be found here

With regret, due to the extensive work involved in preparing for the opening we are unable to answer archive queries.

Enquiries about group visits should be made to the Curator after December 9th.

Our target is to raise £6m including VAT to make our vision of Airborne Assault a reality. Some 60% of this total has been raised already and our fundraising programme continues. You can donate online now direct from this site, or contact us for more information.
